Where to begin. First, I'll say this website in it's new format has taken many months to configure correctly, and so to adequately update you on what's happened during our long website hiatus would be next to impossible. Nevertheless, what follows is an attempt to summarize the most salient...
the unengaged Mus_lim peoples of the world, we are also accepting invitations and looking to God for opportunities for service both locally and internationally (clic here for a look at what's coming). At present we have committed
students and we sense we're off to a roaring start. We meet in a local Kurdish restaurant during the week, a restaurant founded and led by a good friend who returned from that field, but is on his way back there once again. We are purposely working hard to keep the group small and manageable, unlike other groups we've led in the past as this affords us better 'mentoring' options. We're looking for 'intentionality' in all we do, which keeps our eyes searching for those committed to the 'call' of God to reach the unreached (clic here to reflect a bit more on 'the call'). Other important news is that we've re-established relationships in northern Colombia, that great panhandle called 'La Guajira' where there are many Mus_lims we hope to touch with the love of Christ Jesus.

To the left is the delightful family that has taken up our cause and continues to look for opportunities in La Guajira with the hope their land might truly bless the nations one day.
Beyond the incredibly strategic nature of this part of Colombia to our work, I was brought to tears with a special touch of love, beauty and creativity from Alex and Novis' daughter D---- (they asked I not place her name on the internet). While I was there she wrote and sang me the following song (following is the translation)... |
"Roberto is a decent man, Roberto is a cordial man, Roberto is an intelligent man. He is very friendly, he is very friendly. He comes from the United States and travels all over. His favorite country is Colombia. His wife is very pretty. He has a 15-year-old son. His favorite city in Colombia is Chocó. He is a pastor and this song is from my heart."
Wow! What do you do with such a blessing from God! Such makes our work here in Colombia all the more gratifying to be sure. |
