Last Christmas 2016 was our first Christmas with C's family in nineteen years, and the first Christmas for our family of three in the United States ever! It's hard to believe, but it's true. One of her sisters remarked, "It was the best Christmas I can remember in years!" and we couldn't agree more.
We had come up from Colombia in December on what we thought would be a one-year furlough only to have it cut short on account of our need to be back in Colombia for significant ministry break-throughs. This 'call to return' produced an interesting dilemma for us as we found ourselves already committed to various events spanning the many miles from California to Texas to Kansas - commitments already made in anticipation of our furlough. We welcomed these opportunities that have only now, as of this April writing, been completed... teaching an Islamic Awareness seminar, teaching an all-day Evangelism and Church Growth seminar, presenting two lessons at two different locations of the Spanish "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement" course (I taught Lesson Seven both times for those who might be 'in the know' regarding the course; for those not check this out... http://www.perspectives.org), sharing at an opening ceremony for a new emerging Latin American pastoral association and preaching God's Word on several occasions, to name only a few. Beyond all this God has surprised us with a plethora of divine appointments and open doors that have left us not only gaping at the mouth in wonderment, but also excited for our upcoming year-long furlough. Until that time we are still needing to return to Colombia as soon as possible provided we're able to adequately address some recently emerged family challenges that need prayer [click here to pray]. All in all we are thrilled with the results of these last three months and look forward to how they might fit into what we hope will be a genuine full-bodied furlough commencing later this year 2017.
