Summer 2018
We are now three-quarters done with our sabbatical. We still have much to accomplish before it finishes. Here are our prayer requests as we head into the 2018 summer months:

  1. Ask God to continue to enable C. and me to finish our written assessments and Summary Report. These will be very useful, not only for us, but also our team leadership. We have been privileged to have the best coaches anyone could want who have taken a deep interest in us to help us assess our ministry years with a new fresh look at our roles, spiritual gifts and personality mixes. We have yet to put it all together in a formidable package. We have the summer to get it done.
  2. Pray with us that our RV continues to operate smoothly. These machines are quite wonderful, but can also be quite expensive. We have already put far more money into this than we had expected. Nevertheless, it is a blessing that we have our personal living space this time around as we visit our ministry partners around the country. God is good to allow us this special home-away-from-home.
  3. Psalm 31:3 reminds us, “For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me…” We need the Lord’s guidance right now for many, many avenues of ministry. Our ministry has enlarged now to the point we are having to make significant next-step decisions. Frontiers has been wonderful to walk alongside us through this process; we are certain we are in the right tribe for our next season of ministry. Pray that we stay centered on The Rock and that our God as our Fortress will ward off attacks that might deviate us from His perfect will for us.
  4. Thank the Lord with us for His provision for our son J.J. He is doing very well in his present circumstances and we couldn’t be more thrilled in the direction he is heading. He is making stronger, more biblically centered decisions and for this we praise our Heavenly Father. Please pray for J.J. as he grows into manhood, that God will get a hold of his tender heart to use him mightily for His Kingdom purposes.
  5. Finally, continue to pray for us to continue Returning to Him, Resting in Him, Quietly looking to Him and Trusting Him fully (Isaiah 30:15a) as we finish up our sabbatical this summer (click here for a look at our future plans). Ask God to carry us strongly into our Fall ministry plans with strength, purpose and resolve for our next ministry season. We thank God for our health, for this sweet time of reconnecting with friends and family and for His faithfulness to us in all things.

Yet have regard to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, O LORD my God, listening to the cry and to the prayer that your servant prays before you...
