These past three months have been travels for us from Florida to California, connecting with family, friends and ministry partners. During these months we attended a niece’s wedding, encouraged another niece in her graduation from culinary school, met with ministry partners, shared God’s Word a number of times, gave ministry updates and essentially prepared for our 2017 furlough that will hopefully begin January 2017. However, our one HUGE goal was to establish JJ somewhere in the United States, prayers that were answered by God in the most unusual way. He is now in a wonderful Christian home in So. Cal where he can further develop as the fine young man he is.
We had never met the family he's now living with prior to our arrival to So. Cal. We met them casually at a Bible study fellowship one Sunday afternoon October 9, and then more formally the following evening over dessert. However, we have come to love and respect this family greatly in these few short weeks. We couldn’t be more thrilled with where JJ is now living and with whom he's living to begin his USA chapter of life. As of this writing he continues to look for a job close to many of stateside friends, church and family. Please pray he will find just the right job as he continues to search day-in-and-day-out.
C and I are back in Colombia until the end of the year to try and put ministries and our home in order before we commence our 2017 sabbatical. There is much to do as we look forward to our next steps as empty nesters (How can this be? When did this happen? Where did the years go? Lord, have mercy!).
