In two days, August 19, millions of Muslims will arrive to Mecca for their annual pilgrimage, aka the hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. While non-Muslims are not allowed within ten miles of Mecca there are those who not only have entered for the cause of Christ, but also quite miraculously and completely by God's grace and mercy Jesus appears to some here and there during this time of heightened spiritual awareness. It is a time all believers worldwide ought to pray for not only for open doors for those called to penetrate this darkness with the light of God's Good News, but also for those to whom Jesus appears in dreams and visions. This year can we not join the believers worldwide called to pray and fast from August 19 to 21 for this important event? I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time.
