Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
Psalm 115:1
Psalm 115:1
Prayer is placing our eyes upon God, hearing from Him and getting beyond ourselves. True life is all about His glory not ours. When our hearts are right and our constitution correct before Almighty God his blessings will stream upon us in sweet fullness. Please pray to God with us for the following:
1. Our hearts to remain humble as we witness God pouring undeserved blessing upon blessing over us in unexpected and surprising ways.
2. Streams of living water flowing out from us as we minister to weary souls throughout our support-raising travels across the USA.
3. Refreshment for our own souls as we prepare courses, training and counsel for our Latin American brothers and sister in the work of the Lord, in their preparation for cross-cultural work among the abandoned and as we make ready for our ministering to many in our upcoming trip to the Middle East.
4. Gushing waters of prayer and financial support as we continue our furlough. Ask God to grant us divine appointments that lead to surprising encounters to His glory.
5. Holding back the torrential rains around our Colombian home that have destroyed roads, compromised structural integrity and actually threatened life - not only those of Colombian friends but also many around the country.
6. Cool and reinvigorating touches of God to our mentorships, some of whom are passing through very difficult crises of life. Ask God to convict of sin, to grant faith and accord clarity in relationships (John 16:8-11).
7. Bubbling-over joy as we challenge others with God's Word, share stories of our years in dependence upon Him in cross-cultural service and strive for godliness not only in our marriage but also with life-long friendships as we continue to adapt in this new chapter of 'empty-nester' life together.
